Should Nicolette Novak have her head examined?

Only time will tell as the Good Earth Vineyard and Winery begins to take shape. On July 28, 2009 the enormous yellow backhoe trundled down to  the end of our dusty laneway and all hell broke loose.

And so the construction begins for the winery.

And so the construction begins for the winery.

Down came the dilapidated old red barn and the little white shed that was nestled beside it. Ka-blam, the derelict spruce trees came down in anticipation of a landscaping makeover that will leave it as whimsical and wild as the gardens that surround Nicolette’s cottage. So now, we are left with a rather barren plot of land (which has the dogs somewhat nonplussed, given that this was rich groundhog stakeout territory) and the promise of what is to come.

If you would like to come on the journey with us, then we suggest you follow our wee blog. Granted, we are new to this social medium and will require some time to work out the bugs – as many of us at The Good Earth fall into the “luddite” category –  but it is sure to be a fun, frivolous and at the same time daunting journey. Estimated time of opening? Let’s just say “Spring 2010” for the time being!

Here are a couple more pix of the site and the detritus that came from within!
