Today is a stinker of a day and a particularly uncomfortable one for all of us at The Good Earth. It’s not just the unpleasant heat and humidity, but the reality that our dear Amanda — the elegant and charming face at the door, cookie and marshmallow maker par excellence, task master and hawkeye of all the little details, friend and ballast through all waters is leaving. This is her last day as she heads off to welcome her first little bundle of joy into this world and take on the toughest job of all…motherhood!
Amanda and her husband Dylan cannot be more excited about the pending arrival. We all are, to tell the truth! Rumour has it that our 2009 Riesling may have been a contributing factor. Amanda, ever the lady just smiles that special smile of hers when asked!
We will keep you posted on the arrival of the stork and all the joyful news as soon as we get it. In the meantime, Amanda has consented to still supply us her cookies, biscotti and marshmallows as she juggles a baby on her hips (no doubt back to size 0 in a wink of an eye!).
I’m not saying “good bye” but “au revoir” since I hope that we will have Amanda forever in our Good Earth family. Thanks for toughing it out for us through a sometimes difficult pregnancy. Good Luck! That baby of yours is going to be one lucky little tyke to have you as his mother! Just imagine the brithday cakes!!
