We thought we would give you an extra reason to celebrate Canada Day, as today we release the latest members of our Good Wine family.

The pregnant nose knows! Isa sniffs out hints of green peppercorn in our new Cab Franc.

Firstly, The Good Earth Cabernet Franc 2008.  After months of going into hiding every time the word bottling was mentioned, our first-born Cabernet Franc has mellowed and softened and now is resting in bottle.  Although it is still young, this wine is already displaying great plum, cherry and spice characters that I am sure will make it a favorite on our patio this summer.

Secondly, The Good Earth Rosé 2009.  Is this the prettiest wine ever seen on a shelf, anywhere?  The good news is the prettiness doesn’t stop on the shelf.  This seductive little Rosé, with its strawberry pink colour, ripe berry aromas and silky cherry and strawberry flavours can be a dangerous weapon in the wrong hands.  I have already heard it being referred to as a ‘panty remover’.  Maybe we should have put a warning on the label.

I get hungry at the thought of what Isa and Patrick are cooking up to serve with these new wines.  Did I hear something about wood fired pizza?

Cheers, and Happy Canada Day, from the kiwi.
