I have to say that I have never lived through such a challenge with weather as I did this past weekend.  We hosted a lovely wedding this weekend in our gardens for Jessica and Mark.  Remember Sunday?  First hot and hazy day of this summer – hard to believe given that it’a already the second week of August!  Just as the guest first guests arrived ( and after we had set up everything for the outdoor ceremony and stripped down the sidewalls of the marquee!) the skies opened up and teemed cats and dogs! Got to give credit to the wonderful friends and family of the group – no one grumbled or missed a beat.  Out came the umbrellas and the joyous reminder of the familiar old adage — “where there is muck, there’s luck”.

And we were lucky!  After an hour of nibblies and bubbly we got the chairs all dried off and the sun came out in time for Jess and Mark to exchange their vows in a sparkling garden, freshly washed by the deluge!  Good food, music and lots of love and laughter followed.

Kudos to the bride and groom for being totally non-plussed by what Mother Nature threw their way!  I wish all brides were this serene…and beautiful.  Stay tuned for some lovely pictures of our beautiful bride and groom.

The TGE staff voted this group the best dressed of our 2009 wedding season to date!  No pressure Nick and Heather’s friends!  As for the friends of Sarah and Jim — the gauntlet has been tossed on the floor.  Ah, the battle of the wedding crowds…
