Well, it’s official. If you happen to be one of the regular speed demons that races up or down Lincoln Avenue, you may have seen or noticed our new signs. We’ve put out our new shingle announcing the official arrival of The Good Earth Food and Wine Co. The signs have received rave reviews by our “regulars”.
The signs are the creation of our good friend Jerrit at Zebra Signs. Jerrit is truly an artist and not just one of these new fangled, “press the button on the computer and …presto you have a hideous vinyl, back lit sign” guys. Jerrit let his creative juices flow as he created a gorgeous version of our logo, complete with a wreath of copper grape leaves. With time, they will oxidize and take on a lovely patina. Can’t wait to show it to all our “earthlings”.
Kudos to Gordon of North Carolina who joined us at our class on Saturday. He was the first individual to notice the play on words in the latin inscription!
By the way, if you are waiting to come down to Niagara to take in the blossoms on Mother’s Day, you’ll be disappointed. With this crazy (but delicious) weather we have been having, the orchards have been in full bloom for about 10 days. Try and get out to take in the blossoms this weekend — how about join us for our delecTable lunch in our new winery! There isn’t much more life left in the blossoms. This is the earliest blossom time I can remember in my half century of being on a farm. When I was farming, the earliest we had full bloom was April 26. We are well ahead of that. I think it’s safe to say that we are three weeks ahead of schedule.
Drive by and take in the beauty of the Twenty Valley and check out the beauty of the orchards in bloom…and of course, our new signs!
