I sat at the winery construction site for a few hours this morning pondering the lack of animal life in this neck of the woods. What was once fertile hunting ground in now just some sterile concrete blocks. Oh well, doesn’t matter to me, I’m the lover not the hunter. I was headed for home and a civilized meal of crunchies, when I bumbled into a new human in the vineyard.
Nicolette introduced us and he is (remarkably) a kiwi – although what a fruit is doing masquerading as a human, let alone a winemaking human, is beyond me (mind you I never professed to understand humans or fruit).
She said, “Basil, meet Ross Wise, he is the official winemaker of The Good Earth Winery. Ross meet Bazzy, the most rose-mantic cat in the world.” My human has such good taste… and I have the power to make her swoon. I curled around his legs in an attempt to determine how firmly planted on the ground he was and … OH! there’s Isa, I really must run, it’s been days since she’s caressed me…
Ross will be joining the ranks of the Good Earth blogging team so check back for his first blog tomorrow!
