As a feline who likes to think of himself as almost human – well in the romance department at least, I have to say I have really begun to wonder about this non-stop earth moving. Everyday seems to be another mystery in litterbox construction or rodent warfare. Trenches here, mounds of earth there. Then add mountains of gravel and… what’s a feline to make of all this crazy activity?
First the huge claw dug an impressive trench which lay open for what seemed like years. Great for the mousers like my partners in “meow mix”, Nigel and Squirt but puhleez – my thighs were getting more of a work out than desired. Now we have a lovely laneway, a far cry from the earlier dusty version. The most exciting development is this wood puzzle growing steadily day by day. It’s great to have such a lovely smooth surface to sharpen my claws on and the sunning opportunities to the south…ooowee! Now that has my Ferrari engine purring like it should.
I’ve taken to keeping a sharp eye on things these days. I wear many hats at The Good Earth and this one seems a particularly good fit. My daily rounds at the site are finally making a difference. The litter piles have been nicely smoothed out and my newest catnap locale is really taking shape. What would these humans do without my input on the Good Earth winery? This round-faced human with impressive whiskers of his own – Bolek – seems to think he is running the show. I have news for him. I am the purrfect feline for the job. My sense of aesthetic second to none and attention to detail… now let’s try out this warm sundrenched concrete – I feel a catnap coming on!
